Master of Science in Environmental Science

The MS in Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary STEM degree preparing students with broad, in-demand skills. Such skills include data science, biometry, geographic information systems, ecosystem management, environmental chemistry, toxicology, and conservation biology. Students will utilize these skills to make a positive impact on the environment.

A distinguishing feature of this program is the strong emphasis on quantitative skills and data science. To that end, all students are required to complete a 6-credit research project applying the principles of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and analysis.

All courses are taught by highly qualified faculty who are practitioners in the field.

  2.  Utilize theory, law, and scientific principles to analyze environmental issues;
  3. Appraise ethical considerations inherent to environmental issues;
  4. Assess environmental science issues and propose evidence-based solutions;
  5. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data science data to address environmental issues;
  6. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
