GRN 8103 Epidemiology and Population Health
This course will examine the role of epidemiology in population health and advanced nursing practice including prevention strategies, healthcare quality measures, social, cultural, & economic factors, and patient safety considerations. Students will learn epidemiologic principles in data interpretation and apply descriptive and analytical epidemiological methods to vulnerable populations. Students will explore community, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic dimensions of care through the application of their practical experience in the development of a grant proposal. Twenty experiential engagement hours aligned with the AACN Domains are required.
Prerequisite
Admission to the NP or DNP Program or Permission of DNP Program Director, Completed and Up to Date Credentialing, and
GRN 7000.
