Epsilon Pi Tau Honor Society, Delta Lambda Chapter

mEpsilon Pi Tau is an international honor society that encourages academic excellence of students in fields devoted to the general study of technology and the preparation of practitioners for the technology professions. It recognizes and provides services to students in degree and certificate programs in accredited higher education institutions offering associate through doctoral degree programs.

It provides recognition of individuals for achievement and leadership and is a medium for professional development. Membership in Epsilon Pi Tau is open to technology students and professionals with careers in technology. Students are considered for membership in this International Honorary Society because of their academic excellence. Only those individuals who have shown scholastic success are considered.

Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, Alpha Chi Sigma Chapter

Lambda Pi Eta was founded by the students of the Department of Communication at the University of Arkansas in 1985 and became the national honor society for outstanding students in communication in 1994. Today, more than 450 chapters can be found nationwide.

To be eligible for admission, graduate students in the Master of Digital Communication program must meet the following criteria:

1.           Complete 12 hours of graduate credit-hours in Communication

2.           Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5

3.           Currently be enrolled as a student in good standing, as determined by the institution’s policies.

Students meeting the national requirements, as outlined, may apply for Lambda Pi Eta membership.

Membership is by invitation only and new members are inducted during the annual ceremony. New members are presented with a certificate, and a red and white honor cord to be worn with academic attire at their commencement ceremony.

Sigma Beta Delta

Graduating DBA, MBA, MSM and Master of Science in Accounting students who rank in the upper 20 percent of their class will be invited to join Sigma Beta Delta, a national honor society. Sigma Beta Delta is founded on the principles of wisdom, honor, and the pursuit of meaningful aspirations. The society recognizes these qualities as being important to success in the academic realm, as well as providing guidelines which will lead to a fulfilling personal and professional life.

Course Prerequisites

Students are strongly advised to be aware of the prerequisites required for each course they plan to take and to be sure that they have fulfilled these prerequisites before enrolling in a course. Contact your advisor or program chair with questions or concerns.

Peregrine Comprehensive Examination

All undergraduate and graduate business students are required to complete the Peregrine Comprehensive Examination during their capstone course.  This major field assessment evaluates students' knowledge and understanding of the core business curriculum.  Performance on this examination is used as a factor in determining the student's final course grade.

Minimum Grade Policy

The College of Business and Technology policy requires students pursuing an undergraduate degree to attain a minimum grade of “C-” for all program core courses.  

Students earning a grade lower than "C-" in a core course must repeat the course.

Dual-Credit ADVANTAGE™ Accelerated Option

Through Dual-Credit ADVANTAGE™, this accelerated program option allows eligible College of Business and Technology students to take up to four selected graduate-level courses in place of selected undergraduate courses and provides the opportunity to be formally accepted into related WilmU master's degree programs prior to completion of their bachelor’s degree.

In order to be eligible, students must have completed 75 undergraduate credits and obtained an overall GPA of 3.0 or better and have specific undergraduate courses remaining in their program.  Please schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor to learn if you are eligible to participate in this program and determine your concentration-specific course substitutions and requirements.

Note: These graduate-level courses will fulfill requirements for both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Students are required to maintain a 3.0 in all graduate programs.
