Successful client/patient interactions demand exceptional communications skills of professionals who understand how to overcome communication barriers and actively listen and communicate to establish rapport and trust. Developing good helping relationship skills in practice also demands understanding the expectations of professionals in their respective fields. Behavioral Health professionals need to be knowledgeable of confidentiality requirements according to the law. This course will focus on developing professional communications, professionalism, and, knowledge of privacy rules through readings, discussions, and case studies.
