NAP 8105 Advanced Principles of Anesthesia

The first of three advanced courses, "Advanced Principles of Anesthesia," builds on the foundational knowledge from Basic Principles courses focusing on the anesthetic management of complex surgical procedures. This course covers various specialized surgeries and procedures requiring anesthesia, including intra-abdominal, open, and robotic procedures; extrathoracic and plastic surgeries; neurosurgical anesthesia; orthopedics and spine operations; and non-operating room anesthesia (NORA). Students also explore anesthesia considerations for endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, pelvic, ear, nose, and throat (ENT) procedures. Through case studies and clinical scenarios, students refine their skills in creating tailored anesthesia plans, ensuring safe and effective care across diverse surgical and procedural settings.
