SEI 6600 Introduction to Social & Emotional Intelligence

This course offers a comprehensive overview of the principles and practical applications of social intelligence (SI) and emotional intelligence (EI). Through assessments, experiential exercises, and case studies, students will consider the four abilities of Emotional Intelligence along with S.P.A.C.E: The Skills of Social Interaction. They will explore the fundamental techniques for working with others, navigating difficult conversations, resolving conflict, and value negotiating. Finally, through personal application and self-analyzation of SI & EI principles, students will increase their potential for more effective leadership, communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and their ability to excel in a diverse range of settings.
