SEI 6630 Social & Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace

Through this course, students will gain insight into the fundamental components of a workplace characterized by social and emotional intelligence. They will consider Goleman’s Emotional Competence Framework, while assessing their own self-management and relational awareness. In addition to self-application, students will learn methods for developing socially and emotionally intelligent employees. This will be done by focusing on the development of abilities, providing effective performance feedback, implementing change diplomatically, honing negotiation/conflict resolution techniques, and crafting strategies to make a positive impact while earning a loyal following.
