The goal of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills to become proficient in behavioral health practice. Students will explore the foundational theories of human behavior and examine how these basic theories explain behavioral health. Exploring concepts like the social-ecological health framework, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, types of trauma, the abuse and power cycle, stages of change, health belief model, social cognitive theory, domains of mental wellness, the collaborative care model, and others allow students to view client needs and behaviors through a wholistic lens.
