HEL 7703 Ethics, Organizational Social Responsibility and Pluralistic Communities in Higher Education
Today’s higher education leaders must navigate complex environments to build organizations that are socially responsible, diverse, and inclusive for all stakeholders. This course examines ethical principles, social responsibility frameworks, and inclusive leadership practices that shape organizational behavior and decision-making. Students will explore strategies for fostering belonging, collaboration, and innovation while addressing ethical challenges such as privacy, artificial intelligence, social networking, and competing organizational values. Emphasizing experiential learning and real-world application, the course prepares learners to design and implement new initiatives, create socially responsible policies, and lead ethically in multicultural contexts. Through critical analysis and applied projects, participants will develop skills to become reflective, inclusive leaders who advance organizational effectiveness and sustainability - ensuring they are prepared to guide their institutions in an increasingly complex, globalized world.
