LAW7585 Sports and Entertainment Law
This course provides students with an overview of the business and legal issues within the areas of professional and amateur sports as well as entertainment. The course presents real scenarios of the types of cases entertainment and sports lawyers deal with while providing practical experience through assignments that reflect tasks performed in the real world. Students will also be taught to identify litigation issues and theoretical questions raised by law and the rules of ethics. An immersive course surrounding major topics in law: corporations, employment, contracts (drafting & negotiations), tort, antitrust, and intellectual property and their relation to sports and entertainment. Prerequisite: None
